That the application approval system in the App Store is not perfect has already been made clear on several occasions in which Apple approves, for example, console emulators, but this time they have really slipped, because yesterday they approved one that allows them to be used as an alternative store to the App Store, it is a store where you can get any paid app for free, and with astonishing ease...
The application is called DailyHip, and it works in a very similar way to the already deceased Installous, with the big difference that for the latter it was necessary to have a Jailbreak, and DailyHip can be downloaded from the official App Store and it is much easier to use.
How DayliHip works
It is so simple that anyone could do it, once the application is downloaded from the App Store, open it and you will see a screen with featured applications in various sections. We have the Ranking of the best paid applications, the most downloaded by month, the best new games... In the end, what is there to choose from?
If you know what App you want, you just have to search for it by name, the application returns all possible results for your search.
You can also get app listings by genre in its comprehensive side menu.
To download an application you just have to click on its icon and then on the Download button.
The application will ask you for authorization and the download will start automatically.
The Dangers of DailyHip
But all that glitters is not gold friends, it is possible to download any application that is in the DailyHip database, but we will have to trust its developers, we must give permission to their certificate to be able to use their applications, with the risk that this entails.
Once we download the App and tap on its icon, a message like this appears.
As you can see, it is not very encouraging, it is telling us that this developer is not to be trusted, and that we must give him special permissions to be able to run his applications. The iPhone is warning us of the potential danger of running applications of unknown origin, from there it is up to us to continue or not.
If you are one of the adventurers you just have to do the following:
– Follow the next route Settings/General/Profile
– You will see that, next to DailyHip, a VNE Software profile has been installed, tap on it
– Now all that remains is for you to tap on trust VNE Software….
Once this is done you can play or use the downloaded App and the rest that you download later.
Before using DailyHip you should know that:
– The only way to install viruses on our iPhone is for you to do it yourself or for someone to have physical access to your device.
– By trusting a developer through an installed profile you are allowing it to receive your data, which can go from your phone list to your Apple ID, including your password
– We don't know what kind of information DailyHip sends to the developers' servers, but nobody gives anything for nothing, so you will be paying for these pirated applications with your personal information, be it more sensitive or less….
If with everything mentioned above, you still want to download the application, you just have to do a search in the App Store, we assume that it will not last very long in the official store.
Our advice is not to do it, but yourself….
We thank @VBarraquito by the warning.
