Apple TV+ has confirmed the return of Hijack and there's already a date marked on the calendar: Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, January 14, 2026The service will kick off the new season with a double launch and will continue to broadcast weekly thereafter.
In this sequel, the series changes its setting and pace without losing its thriller pulse: The plane makes way for the Berlin subway, where the passengers are trapped in a dangerous situation. Idris Elba reprises his role as Sam nelson, once again at the center of a crisis that could turn sour with a single bad decision.
Release date and how it will be launched
Apple TV+ will kick off the season with two episodes available on January 14, followed by a new chapter every week until the arc closes on February 25, 2026. They will be eight episodes in total, with premiere day-and-date worldwide, also in Spain and the rest of Europe.
What the new season is about
The story sets the action in a Berlin subway train taken hostage, while authorities try to prevent a bigger tragedy. The pattern is once again one of sustained tension and decisions on the edge, with Sam Nelson facing a crossroads where any misstep could have a devastating high costs.
The format maintains the hallmark of the series: thriller pace and a close look at the characters, now with the addition of the Berlin U-Bahn environment, which completely changes the logistics, communication and rescue possibilities compared to what was seen on the plane in the first installment.

The production is handled by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta and Tom Nash as executive producers alongside Kay and Field Smith.
